Tryouts

The McLean MPS Hurricanes are holding open tryouts for all positions.  We are looking for ODP and regional caliber players.  The Hurricanes are a U-14 (rising U15) NCSL Division One team, in the final four of the 2007 Virginia State Cup championship (second year in a row), will play Region 1 or Super Y League in 2008, and will practice year-round under Coach Dave Kenna.  Coach Kenna has won several state cups, had a team in the National finals and holds a UEFA "A" license. The Hurricanes plan to participate in only the best regional and national tournaments. Please forward any questions regarding the team or tryouts to Coach David Kenna at dcken11@msn.com. Telephone: 703-967-0367.

About the Hurricanes

The McLean MPS Hurricanes are among the premier U-14 boys teams in Virginia, the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL), and on the east coast of the United States.  Two-time NCSL Division 1 champions, the Hurricanes are finishing the spring 2007 season with a 152-43-33 combined record, having outscored their opponents by a 658-179 margin.  The Hurricanes have won numerous tournament victories over the years, placed third at the National Futsal Championships in Anaheim, California in 2005, and reached the semi-finals of the 2006 and 2007 Virginia State Cup.

The Hurricanes are part of McLean Youth Soccer and its McLean Premier Soccer program, headed by Clyde Watson, recently the head coach of Washington Freedom.  In fall the Hurricanes will be coached by David Kenna, a former semi-professional player in Ireland. The holder of a UEFA "A" license, David has successfully coached for more than 15 years in Northern Virginia, and can be reached at 703-967-0367.
